NDP Leader Ryan Meili called on the provincial government to make sure all hands are on deck to fight COVID-19.

After the Saskatchewan Health Authority released projected numbers earlier in the day (Wednesday) predicting thousands of deaths in the province, Meili says the numbers are hard to take.

Meili once again called on the provincial government to establish a special committee, of government, opposition and including leaders from across the province.

The Leader of the Opposition says that is why he is asking the Premier to immediately engage leaders from all corners of the province, all sectors of our economy,

those representing students and workers and small businesses, mayors of towns and cities, First Nations and Métis leaders on a task force to ensure that the people of Saskatchewan get through this stronger than ever.

Meili added that the projections from the SHA are models, saying that is what could happen, but it isn’t what has to happen. Saying that it is a call to action and why it is so important that we are all acting together.
