Kirk Muyres to join Matt Dunstone’s Regina rink

A major roster shakeup in Saskatchewan curling was announced Thursday morning.

Kirk Muyres reunites with his former teammates Matt Dunstone and Braeden Moskowy, as he joins their Regina based rink for the 2020-21 season.

Muyres played with Dunstone at the 2018 Tim Hortons Brier in Regina, while Muyres and Moskowy’s playing time together dates back to 2011, when they became the first Canadian Junior team to go undefeated to win a Canadian Junior Curling Championship. That rink eventually finished fourth in the World Junior event later that season. Muyres and Moskowy played one professional season together in 2012, winning one event, before Muyres joined Steve Laycock’s rink.

This comes after the departure of Catlin Schneider from the Dunstone rink. There’s been no decision announced for his curling future.

Meanwhile, Muyres’ former rink based out of Saskatoon has disbanded.
