Regina police arrested a 22-year-old man and charged him with firearms related offences and possession of stolen property.
Police saw a man and two women in a stolen Chev Silverado truck in downtown Regina Saturday.
They followed the truck for a few stops until the 1400 block of Garnet Avenue, where police challenged the man and asked him to stop.
He tried to flee on foot, discarding a pair of backpacks found to have a sawed-off 22-calibre rifle, among other items. The man was arrested and investigation led to further charges.
Dana Jordan Wallace is charged with possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000; breach of probation; 4 times possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition; possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized; possession of a firearm knowing serial number has been tampered with; unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle; store firearm contrary to regulations; possession of a prohibited restricted weapon with ammunition; and operation of a conveyance while prohibited.
Wallace, 22, made his first appearance on the charges Thursday in provincial court.
