One of the things I enjoy most about a Sunday morning is cooking up a good old breakfast of bacon and eggs, although our actual bacon has been replaced by turkey bacon. It’s not as good as real bacon, but my wife says it’s a healthy alternative, so that’s what has been accompanying our eggs and hash browns for a couple of years now.
It really doesn’t seem to matter when you eat breakfast nowadays. It seems to be the most popular meal of the day and some restaurants spend big money on advertising to let us know that. Both Tim Hortons and McDonald’s have been offering up their all day breakfast menus for quite a while now.
I do love an Egg McMuffin as much as the next guy. I just don’t know if I’d order one at 3 o’clock in the afternoon. My mind automatically tells me that breakfast is no longer an option after a certain time of day. It’s not that I don’t like eating breakfast food through the day, it’s just that it doesn’t happen very often.
The odd time my wife and I will have a breakfast meal for supper. Sometimes I’ll make bacon and eggs for supper and there are other times when we get a craving for French toast and sausages smothered in syrup. It’s just a nice change.
Darn it. All this talk about breakfast has made me hungry. Maybe I’ll stop by the grocery store on the way home and buy some bacon and eggs.
Looks like it’s breakfast for supper tonight in the Lewis household.
