Saskatchewan livestock producers have a new financing option.
The manager of the Saskatchewan Livestock Finance Co-operative, Terry Wensley, says the new SK co-op is designed to help provide loans to livestock producers to expand herd size
He says there has been a lot of support for the new co-op and new members are welcome.
Wensley says the new co-op has 800 members and was set up this year to replace the Livestock Loan Guarantee program previously operated by the Saskatchewan government.
The previous program began in 1984 and supported thousands of producers over 35 years of operation.
He says the new co-op will be able to provide competitive financing for cattle feeder, breeder and bison breeder and feeder operations.
