Unifor issued a news release on Thursday stating that five more Crown Corporations and one Crown Agency (SaskEnergy, SaskPower, SecurTek, DirectWest, SaskWater, and the Water Security Agency) had joined SaskTel with the threat of job action as soon as midnight Monday.
Crown employees are seeking a wage hike after they learned that Premier Scott Moe and MLA’s gave themselves a 2.3 per cent increase in pay.
It was expected the two sides were to resume bargaining after Unifor held a noon hour news conference in Regina on Thursday, that saw National President Jerry Dias in attendance.
