Special weather statements in effect as snow moves into Saskatchewan over the weekend

Environment Canada has issued several special weather statements for Saskatchewan on Friday.

It comes as a low pressure system is expected to move through the southern half of the province, bringing in falling temperatures, rain snow, and localized blowing snow.

The system is expected to move in overnight Saturday and continue on until at least Tuesday.

Final snowfall accumulations could hit 20 centimeters in some areas. Wind speeds of 60 km/h may also  hit Saskatchewan on Monday.

Additional warnings may be issued as the system approaches.
