(Jamie) I’m Pretty Sure You Can Drive A Little Faster Than That

When I woke up this morning the first thing I did was to peek out the bedroom window to check if we got any of the snow that was forecast to fall overnight. I was pleasantly surprised to see that we hadn’t, yet.

On my way to work I ended up behind a city gravel truck that was probably scheduled to spread some gravel at the intersections in case we got that snow we were expecting.

I followed that gravel truck on 4th avenue from Lewvan to Albert Street. It’s a good thing I wasn’t in a hurry because the driver decided that 30 km/hr was fast enough for him, which meant it had to be fast enough for me. Really? 20 clicks below the speed limit? I’ve seen those trucks go a lot faster than that, but not this guy. I could understand if the truck was spreading gravel, but there was none of that needed on the roads this morning.

Sometimes, if I get a driver tailgating me, I’ll slow down just to be a jerk. I hate been tailgated. I certainly wasn’t riding this guy’s tail this morning. There’s a sign on the back of the truck advising anyone behind him to stay back 15 meters, which I did. I have no idea why he thought 30 clicks was fast enough to drive. Maybe he was just having fun with me.

All I know is that this driver was putting a few extra minutes between me and my first cup of coffee.

That’s a dangerous game to play!
