Logan Nijhoff scored and Roddy Ross made 30 saves, but it wasn’t enough as the Regina Pats fell 3-1 to the Winnipeg Ice Monday night.

Pats Coach Dave Struch said he felt they played a good game against what’s become one of the top teams in the East Division.

“Overall, they do have a good team, that’s the way it is, that’s where they are in their program, but I thought our compete level was really good and we have lots to build off of for our game Tuesday night against Prince Albert,” he said.

Struch also felt this was the team’s best effort against Winnipeg so far this season.

“They capitalized on some chances obviously and our goaltender was good, but I thought that we did a good job defensively which gave us more opportunities to play with the puck, that’s the most we’ve played with the puck this year against that team.”

The loss drops the Pats to (6-7-2-1) on the season.

They’ll take on the Prince Albert Raiders (5-8-2-1) Tuesday night at 8:00 p.m. on 620 CKRM, pre game coverage begins at 7:35 p.m..
