A hot, humid air mass is parked over Saskatchewan, and it isn’t moving.
With temperatures expected to be above 30 all week, and humidex values expected to be 36, Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a heat warning for parts of Saskatchewan.
It includes Regina, Fort Qu’Appelle and the surrounding area, encompassing most of south east Saskatchewan, and from Saskatoon, east to the Manitoba border. Lows at night will be in the high teens or low 20’s.
Outdoor workers should be taking breaks in a cool place out of the sun, and everyone should drink more water.
Extreme Heat can cause health problems, look for swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and the worsening of some health conditions.
The elderly and others could be more vulnerable during this heat wave, as well never leave pets in vehicles in this kind of heat.
The weather forecast indicates this heat will be with us until at least Wednesday.
