Agriculture minister David Marit leaves Sunday for a 6-day trade mission to Mexico.
Marit says Mexico is an important market for Saskatchewan agriculture exports.
He says Mexico is Saskatchewan’s fourth largest market for farm products.
He says Mexico bought 750 million dollars worth of Saskatchewan canola, wheat and cattle genetics last year.
Marit says the trade mission will include officials from Canadian Western Agribition and the Canola Council of Canada.
The mission will also promote research, investment and other collaborative opportunities in Saskatchewan’s value-added sector.
Marit says the trade mission is designed to strengthen trade, research and investment in a market so easily accessible and free of duties and tariffs.
