Final rankings for CFL draft are released

Two players expected to be taken in the NFL draft are numbers one and two as the CFL scouting bureau released the final edition of the Top-20 prospects eligible for the 2020 CFL Draft on April 30.

Oklahoma defensive tackle Neville Gallimore, who also topped the December edition, followed by Notre Dame receiver Chase Claypool, and University of Alberta offensive lineman Carter O’Donnell are the top three players.  With Gallimore and Claypool expected to hear their name taken in the first three rounds of the NFL draft, it is thought O’Donnell will be the first player taken by the Calgary Stampeders. They own the top pick after a trade that sent quarterback Nick Arbuckle to Ottawa.

Rounding out the top 10 are:

  • 4. Tomas Jack-Kurdyla (OL -University of Buffalo)
  • 5. Dejon Brissett (REC – Virginia)
  • 6. Michael Hoecht (DL-Brown)
  • 7. Nathan Roarke (QB-Ohio)
  • 8. Jordan Williams (LB-East Carolina)
  • 9. Marc-Antoine Dequoy (DB-Montreal)
  • 10. Mason Bennett (DL- North Dakota)

As it stands right now, the Saskatchewan Roughriders are slated to pick 7th.  They also have the 30th, 35th, 44th, 53rd, 62nd and 71st selections.
