Saskatchewan now has a 40% test positivity rate for COVID-19

COVID-19 numbers across the province are reaching staggering new heights.

New case numbers and hospitalizations are climbing, and the provincial test positivity rate is more than 40%. The highest it has been in the last 675 days of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The province now has 167 hospitalized cases of COVID-19, including 13 people in the ICU. This number marks the highest hospitalization rate in the province since November of 2021.

Case counts wise – the province reported 1347 new cases, and currently has an active case count of more than 11,000 in the province.

Among the new cases 452 are reported in the Saskatoon area, 268 in the Regina zone, 122 in the North Central Region.
