Pats make moves ahead of trade deadline

The Regina Pats made a couple of moves before yesterday’s WHL trade deadline.

The Pats shipped 19 year old forward Drew Englot to the Kamloops Blazers in exchange for 17 year old Tye Spencer.

Englot spent parts of the last three seasons with the Pats, this year he has played in all 32 games picking up 6 goals and 10 assists. Kamloops is currently the top team in the BC Division.

Spencer has played 32 games in his rookie season picking up 3 goals and 8 assists. Spencer joined the Blazers last season after spending time with the Saskatoon Contacts.

The Pats also traded defenceman Tom Cadieux to the Vancouver Giants in exchange for a pair of draft picks. Cadieux was acquired by the Pats in October of 2020. This season he has scored 1 goal and added 10 assists. The Pats will receive the Giants Third Round Pick in the 2023 Prospects Draft as well they will receive the Giants 5th round pick in the 2022 Prospects Draft.
