As the Unifor strike impacting Saskatchewan’s Crown Corporations continues, there are plans in place for a rally at Victoria Park later this morning to mark one week of official job action.
According to Unifor, the rally will include hundreds of Unifor members and supporters from across the province to send a message to the provincial government that it is time for a fair deal.
“While Premier Moe dines on the best sushi money can buy, nearly 5,000 Crown workers are on picket lines,” said Jerry Dias, Unifor National President. “It’s time Scott Moe takes care of his responsibilities to Saskatchewan,” Unifor National President Jerry Dias said in a statement.
Unifor says the province is demanding a two-year wage freeze while the provincial government granted themselves a cost-of-living wage increase in the spring.
