Seeding underway in isolated areas of Saskatchewan

Seeding is slowly getting underway in scattered pockets of Saskatchewan.

The crop extension specialist in Swift Current, Shannon Chant, says there has been some seeding around Maple Creek and north of Swift Current.

Chant adds some pre-seeding herbicide applications are also being done.

Chant says soil moisture is relatively good because of recent snow, but it is also a bit later than previous years.

She adds early planted crops are usually pulses and cereal grains.
