Thanksgiving weekend starts with snowfall warning for SE Sask

Turkey, stuffing and shovelling.

That is what people in the southeast corner of Saskatchewan could be doing this weekend as a snowfall warning for areas including Carlyle, Stoughton, Moosomin and Grenfell has been issued by Environment Canada.

The weather office says 10 to 15 centimeters of  snow will move into the southeastern corner of Saskatchewan late Friday evening as the edge of a major storm system brushes the area. Areas nearest the Manitoba border as well as higher terrain around Moose Mountain Provincial Park will see 10 to 15 cm before the snow tapers off late Saturday afternoon.

This system is hammering Manitoba with some highways closed.  The city of Winnipeg is urging people to stay off the roads while city crews clean up because of downed trees and powerlines with activity at the airport also delayed with some flights being cancelled.
