Snowfall Warnings continue for southeastern Saskatchewan Saturday morning, as the edge of a massive winter storm slamming Manitoba just crosses the border.
Environment Canada’s Dan Fulton said snow will continue to fall until late Saturday afternoon.
“So for areas along the Manitoba border we’re expecting ten centimeters today, and additional ten centimeters,” Fulton said. “There could be more over the higher terrain in Moose Mountain as you get a little bit of up slope there,” Fulton added.
It’s a much different story in southern Manitoba where Fulton said from the Saskatchewan border to just west of Winnipeg snowfall accumulations of 40 to 60 centimeters have already piled up on top of strong northerly winds of 100 km/h.

“Basically it looks like it’s from just west of Winnipeg to the Saskatchewan border, there’s been significant snowfall there already with widespread accumulations in southwestern Manitoba anywhere from 40 to 60 centimeters of snow,” Fulton said.
Highways in Manitoba including the Trans-Canada are either closed or reporting extremely dangerous travel conditions.
Another 15 to 20 centimeters of snow is expected in Manitoba on Saturday before things begin to clear up in the evening.
