A University of Saskatchewan polar bear research project is giving everyone the chance to take part in some citizen science.

Associate Professor at the School of Environment and Sustainability, Doug Clark, said they are going through ten years of pictures taken by remote cameras in Northern Manitoba.

The goal is to build a more clear picture of what polar bears and other wildlife are doing, especially in that area, which is seeing a rapid change as the climate warms.

Volunteers are asked a series of questions with each picture that is reviewed and the same photo will be reviewed by 15 different people for accuracy.

The project launched in late March and so far there are just under 3,000 volunteers from around the world.
