SaskPower reminding producers to “Look Up and Live” during seeding

SaskPower is reminding farmers to look up and live as spring seeding begins.

Scott McGregor with SaskPower says over half of farm safety incidents occur between April and June.

“We want to remind farmers, producers, hired hands, anyone operating heavy machinery near powerlines to take extreme caution,” said McGregor. “We see about 300 incidents involving farm equipment contacting overhead powerlines each year, and we want people to take extreme care out there.”

McGregor says SaskPower will be increasing funding to the Farmyard Line Relocation program and Rural Rebuild program this year to help move power lines from farmyards and fields.
